Greenery I Found Between Sham Shui Po and Prince Edward

Whenever foreign friends visit, I always enthusiastically recommend Sham Shui Po, especially for enjoying a beer at Garden Hill before sunset!

Ironically, I’ve always been wary of crowds, so my visits to Sham Shui Po are usually quite purposeful—heading to the paper shop to buy supplies, occasionally taking a break at @blackwindow___, then going through the tunnel, turning right to the rest area on Nam Cheong Street, and continuing straight until I reach Book Punch, Form Society, and Hunter Bookstore. Once I complete that mission, I feel accomplished. However, Tai Nam Street has changed quite a bit.

Walking from Prince Edward in the opposite direction allows me to enjoy a leisurely stroll and appreciate the surrounding scenery, discovering a bit of greenery along the way.

//Since Hunter Bookstore moved to its 2.0 location, the landscape on the streets of Sham Shui Po has changed. There are now various potted plants placed along the roadside, on railings, and near parking meters, with upcycling water bottles. It turns out these grassroots designs have adorned the Keelung Street area. Since then, I’ve made it a point to venture from the bookstore towards Sham Shui Po and Prince Edward in search of pockets of greenery in the city.//

//自從獵人書店搬到 2.0 現址,走在深水埗街頭的風景便起了些變化。在路邊、欄杆、咪錶旁不時放置了大小不一的盆栽,有些更是用水樽來種花,原來是這些⺠間設計點綴了基隆街一 帶。由那時開始,我便從書店出發分別向深水埗、太子方向尋找城市中的一點綠意。 //
